How We Create Our Content: Editorial Standards and AI Disclosure

All About Moscow is a practical guide to Moscow for visitors and for people living or working there. This page explains who writes our content, how we research and check it, how we use AI tools, and how we earn money from the site.

Who writes our content

Articles on this site are published under the byline of Anastasia Ivanova. The site is edited and published by the team behind gotravelyourself.com, which also operates our sister sites. The publisher stands behind everything published here, and editorial responsibility rests with us whoever signs the article. See the About page for more.

A note on accuracy for travel to Russia

Entry rules, payment systems, flights and official travel advice for Russia have changed a great deal since 2022 and can change again quickly. Many governments advise against or restrict travel to Russia, and that advice can affect insurance and consular help. Nothing on this site replaces the current advice from your own government, the Russian embassy or consulate that serves you, or your insurer. Pages on visas, registration, payments and flights are the ones we recheck most often, and each tells you what to confirm before you travel.

How we research and check our articles

Official sources first. For rules, prices and timetables we rely on the authorities and operators themselves: Russian government and consular sources for visas and registration, the Moscow transport operators for fares and routes, and the Central Bank of Russia for currency and payment rules.

Dated figures. Where a figure or rule depends on a year or season, we say which one. Anything we could not confirm for the current year is labelled as such.

Regular rechecks. We recheck time-sensitive pages at least once a year, normally in the autumn. Older articles may predate this process, and we are working through them. Several earlier articles contained out-of-date information from before 2022 and have been corrected.

Honest about limits. We do not claim to have visited every place we describe. Where a page relies on official information rather than first-hand experience, it is written that way.

Our use of AI tools

We use AI writing and research tools as part of our process, to help draft, restructure, summarise and fact-check content. A human editor reviews the result before it is published and decides what goes live. AI tools are not a source of facts for this site: any price, date, rule or statistic that an AI tool suggests has to be confirmed against an official source before it stays in an article, and we remove or rewrite anything that cannot be confirmed.

AI tools make mistakes, and some older articles on this site were produced with earlier tools and have needed substantial correction. We have been reviewing and rewriting them. If you find something wrong, please tell us.

How we make money

Some links on this site may be affiliate links, for example to booking services. If you book through one of them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We may also display advertising on some pages. Commissions do not decide what we recommend or how we describe it, and we do not accept payment to feature a specific product in an article. Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be labelled as such.

Corrections

If you spot an error, such as an outdated rule, a wrong price or a broken link, write to us through the contact page. We check substantiated corrections and fix them promptly.
