I want to be upfront about this hub. Most digital nomad content assumes a level of banking and payment access that simply doesn’t exist in Russia right now. If you’re planning to live in Moscow while working for Western clients and getting paid in dollars or euros, that’s a genuinely harder proposition in 2026 than it was before 2022.
If you’re a Russian national, already have Russian residency, or work for Russian or non-Western clients, most of this friction doesn’t apply to you.
